About Me

Hi, I’m Andrew, and I’m here to help you unlock the joy of photography.

As a passionate photographer and educator, I believe photography is so much more than just technical skills or expensive gear—it’s about the art of seeing.

I want to inspire you to develop your photography eye, refine your techniques, and, most importantly, enjoy the process of creating something meaningful.

My Photography Journey

I’ve been exploring the world through a camera for many years, and my passion for photography has taken me on a journey of creativity, learning, and discovery.

I hold a Diploma in Illustrative Photography from the Photography Studies College in Melbourne, Australia, and my work has been featured in publications like Encyclopaedia Britannica, dance and tennis magazines, and travel books.

After taking a break from photography, I returned with a fresh perspective—not just on how to create beautiful images, but on how to share what I’ve learned with others.

Teaching photography has become one of the most rewarding parts of my journey, and nothing excites me more than seeing others grow in their craft.

My Approach to Photography

I believe that developing as a photographer is a combination of two things:

1. Learning to See

2. Mastering the Skills to Capture What You See

Photography is first and foremost about seeing the image—noticing the light, shapes, colors, human interactions, or fleeting moments of movement and emotion.

It’s about training your photography eye to spot the drama, comedy, or beauty in the world around you.

This is something anyone can learn with practice, and it’s the foundation of creating powerful images.

Once you’ve learned to see, the next step is to develop the skills and techniques to bring your vision to life.

Whether it’s mastering long exposures, freezing action, panning, or working with natural light, there’s always something new to discover and refine.

Photography is a lifelong journey of growth, and that’s what makes it so exciting.

Why Photography is So Rewarding

Photography is one of the most rewarding creative pursuits because it allows you to combine your passions.

Often, the most powerful images come when you bring your love for something else—like sports, nature, art, or travel—into your photography.

Capturing what you’re passionate about gives meaning to your work and makes your images truly unique.

If photography itself is your passion, challenging yourself to work on a specific style or project (e.g., building a portfolio, mastering long exposures, or capturing a series of cityscapes) can be incredibly motivating.

Photography is a medium where you can always push your boundaries and further develop your eye and technique, no matter how skilled you are. It’s a journey of constant improvement and creative growth.

How I Can Help You

I’m here to guide you on your photography journey—whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills.

Through my courses, free resources, and videos, I aim to make photography:

Fun and Accessible: You don’t need expensive gear to create stunning images.

It’s about using what you have and enjoying the process.

Creative and Inspiring: Photography is about storytelling and self-expression, not just technical perfection.

Rewarding and Transformative: Developing your photography can change the way you see the world and help you create something truly meaningful.

A Little Photography Challenge for You

If you’re looking for inspiration, I encourage you to try setting a challenge for yourself.

Whether it’s building a portfolio around a specific topic, working on a new technique, or capturing a series of images that express a theme, challenges like these can help you grow as a photographer and find deeper meaning in your work.

Start noticing the light around you, the shapes and textures, the human stories, and the fleeting moments of movement or stillness.

Photography is about being present in the moment and capturing something that speaks to you.

Let’s Develop Your Photography Together

Photography is a journey, not a destination—and I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Whether you’re looking for free guides, courses, or just some inspiration, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and help you grow in your craft. Let’s make photography fun, rewarding, and transformative together.

Beyond Photography

While photography is my greatest creative passion, I also draw inspiration from the small joys and unique experiences that life has to offer.

I love exploring regional Australia and the vibrant energy of Sydney, but I’ll always have a soft spot for my Melbourne coffees—there’s nothing quite like settling into a cozy café with a good brew, watching the light shift, and letting my mind wander.

Whether it’s the hustle of a city street or the stillness of a winter beach, these moments of reflection often spark new ideas and fuel my creativity. Travel has also played a big role in shaping my perspective as a photographer.

From capturing the dramatic coastline of Australia to finding hidden gems in well-trodden cities, I’ve learned that photography is about being curious and seeing the beauty in the world around us—whether it’s far from home or in your own backyard.

In addition to photography, I’m passionate about personal development and the power of setting meaningful goals.

I believe that challenging yourself—whether it’s building a portfolio, dedicating time to master new techniques, or simply carving out time for creativity—can be a transformative experience.

That’s why I created my Goals Course, designed to help you structure your time, set achievable goals, and stay motivated—whether it’s for photography or any other passion project. For me, photography is about more than taking pictures.

It’s about seeing the world differently, finding joy in the process, and staying curious. Wherever you are on your photography journey, I’m here to help you grow, reflect, and create something meaningful.
